This is for you
Things not going well at home, stuck at school or just not feeling right? With us you get a support worker who gets your world: how you talk, where you hang out, what is going on. No lecture, no judgement.
Two sentences are enough. You are not committing to anything.
You stay in charge
You decide what you tell us, where we meet and what you want to work on. What you tell us stays between us, with one exception that we explain honestly: if there is danger for you or for someone else, we always speak up, and never behind your back. From the age of 16 you decide yourself about your support and about what we share with your parents. Are you younger? Then you and your parents decide together, and we always discuss with you first how we are going to do that.
What you can expect from us
Someone who gets your world
Our support workers know the language of the street and the codes of (sub)cultures. You do not have to explain first how things work for you.
You set the pace
Where we meet, what you tell us and what you want to work on: you decide that. We do not push anything on you.
Nothing behind your back
First we discuss with you what a good next step is, and whether and how your parents are needed for that. One exception: if there is danger for you or for someone else, we have to do something. Even then you hear it from us first.
A quick answer
Your message is read by someone from our team. We reply as soon as possible, within 5 working days at the latest.
What can you come to us with?
You do not need a big story and it does not have to be "bad enough". Doubting is reason enough to get in touch. Young people come to us because things are tense at home, for example, because school does not work because of concentration, motivation or arguments, because they are being bullied, because they do not feel good, or because they just need someone who does not take sides.
In the 2024 client satisfaction survey, young people we supported gave us an average score of 7.6.
The first step
The first step is small. Send an email to jeugd@youthturn.nl and just say what is going on. Two sentences are enough. Someone from our team reads your message and replies as soon as possible, within 5 working days at the latest. We do nothing behind your back: first we discuss with you what a good next step is, and whether and how your parents are needed for that.
Not doing well right now?
Youth Turn is not a crisis service. We are here on working days from 9:00 to 17:00.
- During the day: call your own GP (family doctor). In the evening, at night and at the weekend: the out-of-hours GP service.
- Immediate danger? Call 112.
- Are you thinking about suicide? Call 113 or 0800-0113 free of charge, day and night. You can also chat through 113.nl.
- Worried about violence or feeling unsafe at home? Call Veilig Thuis free of charge: 0800-2000, day and night.
- A crisis around a child or young person? Call your GP (family doctor). If needed, they will call in the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT). Professionals call the CIT Hollands Midden directly: 088 - 308 38 00 (on working days from 9:00 to 17:00). Outside those hours: Kwadraad, 088 - 900 40 00.
Is there something about your support that does not feel right?
Then you can always talk to an independent confidential counsellor from Jeugdstem, free of charge. They do not work for us. Call 088 - 555 10 00 (on working days from 9:00 to 17:00) or read what Jeugdstem does →
